Only Chamber members can purchase [Chamber Insurance](https://www.chamberplan.ca/), the #1 Insurance Plan for small businesses. Members can also receive discounts on products and services such as Bell MTS, VISA & Mastercard rates, and Choice Hotels, through the [Manitoba Chambers of Commerce Affinity Program](http://www.mbchamber.mb.ca/membership/affinity-partners/).
All members receive **referrals** to their business from our office, **free monthly e-mail advertisements** to our mailing list, “Promotional Minutes” at lunch meetings, and a listing in our [Member Directory](/VendorDirectory?Filter=Members). Every third Wednesday we host a lunch meeting for our members, where **politicians, our members, and residents give presentations** on topics applicable to Thompson and area. #### Provincial Lobbying We actively participate in the Manitoba Chambers of Commerce Policy Resolution discussions. Approved policies are advocated for on a provincial and federal level. #### Shop Local Campaign The Thompson Chamber of Commerce promotes shopping at local businesses through different campaigns – radio and newspaper advertising, social media promotions, gift card giveaways, etc. Local businesses support local teams, events, socials, charities and fund raising. We need to spend local to support our local businesses. #### Scholarships Every year, the Thompson Chamber of Commerce issues two scholarships: * -R.W.F. Hunt Scholarship – A $1000 scholarship for a first or second year post-secondary student who is studying a business-related field. * -Troy Anand Scholarship – A $1000 scholarship for a first year post-secondary student.
